Can the alternative male tactics 'fighter' and 'sneaker' be considered 'coercer' and 'cooperator' in coho salmon?
Article Abstract:
Females often prefer to mate with males with certain traits and the preferred males cooperated with females to reduce the direct loss of reproduction while unperformed males use alternative tactics that attempt to alter female choice in their favor such as coercion. When this occurs female have to choose whether to pay the cost of coercion and mate with preferred males or avoid the cost of coercion by mating with unperformed males.

Trade-off between growth rate and aggression in juvenile coho salmon, Oncorhynchus kisutch
Article Abstract:
The genetic correlation between growth rate and aggression in juvenile coho salmon is determined. The results show that the growth rate and agonistic behavior are negatively correlated and hence the aggressive behavior has an energetic cost.

Movements of male sockeye salmon, Oncorhynchus nerka, on spawning grounds: effects of in-stream residency, density and body size
Article Abstract:
Impact of movements of male sockeye salmon fish, Oncorhynchus nerka, among nesting females during breeding season, on the population density of the species is discussed. Variations in the gene flow due to fine spatial scales are presented.
