Chemical properties of element 106 (seaborgium)
Article Abstract:
Synthesis of elements heavier than actinides, allows the limits of the periodic table to be used as a way of classifying elements. Transactinide elements have been expanded to element 112, although chemical properties have only been investigated to transactinide elements 104 and 105. The chemical separation of seaborgium (element 106) is reported and its chemical behaviour in a gas phase and aqueous solution. Seaborgium was found to have similar characteristics to molybdenum and tungsten, the group six homologues.

Chemical characterization of element 112
Article Abstract:
A chemical characterization of element 112, involving the production of two atoms of [super 283]112 through the alpha decay of the short-lived [super 287]114 and the adsorption of the two atoms on a gold surface is presented. The adsorption characteristics have shown that the element 112 is a typical element of group 12 and its successful production has established the approach to the island of stability of superheavy element through [super 48]Ca-induced fusion reactions with actinides.
