Chemists sound warning on sponsorship of exhibitions
Article Abstract:
The American Chemical Society will publicly criticize the Science in American Life exhibition for the first time in its periodical Chemical and Engineering News. It will also caution potential sponsors of exhibitions at the Smithsonian that they cannot ensure control over such projects. The publication of the ACS' criticisms comes after it pulled out of talks with the Smithsonian Institution about implementing changes in the exhibition, after realizing that the talks will not result in the changes that it seeks.
