Conformational identification of individual adsorbed molecules with the STM
Article Abstract:
Scanning tunneling microscopy was utilized to establish a real-space conformational analysis of individually adsorbed porphyrin molecules. Results have shown that rotations around the bonds within four tertiary butyl appendages with different metal substrates determine the changes in the conformational structure of porphyrin. These changes also determine the interaction strength of the molecule relative to its substrate bond and geometry.

Observation of nuclear fusion driven by a pyroelectric crystal
Article Abstract:
A report that gently heating a pyroelectric crystal in a deuterated atmosphere can generate fusion under desktop conditions is presented. The electrostatic field of the crystal is used to generate and accelerate a deuteron beam, which, upon striking a deuterated target, produces a neutron flux over 400 times the background level.

Nucleation and growth mechanism of ferroelectric domain-wall motion
Article Abstract:
A simple analytic model to relate bulk polarization and gradient energies to wall nucleation and growth which rationalizes experimental rate measurements in PbTi[O.sub.3] and BaTi[O.sub.3] is described.
