Countersinging as a signal of aggression in a territorial songbird
Article Abstract:
The countersinging behavior in male Carolina wrens, Thyothorus ludovicianus that countersing regularly is examined. A comparison of the responses to countersinging and noncountersinging playbacks suggested that countersinging elicited more aggressive responses than did noncountersinging.
