Detection of bromine monoxide in a volvanic plume
Article Abstract:
Abundant occurrence of bromine monoxide and sulfur dioxide in the plume of the Soufriere Hills volcano by differential optical absorption spectroscopy indicates the presence of local depletion of ozone and ozone 'holes' near the active volcanoes. Data points out that bromine monooxide emission is significant affecting the stratosphere and tropospheric chemistry.

Melt retention and segregation beneath mid-ocean ridges
Article Abstract:
Research is presented concerning the production of models which predict the behavior of melt at the mid-ocean ridges. The conflict between the predictions made by the models and seismic data is discussed.
