Determinants of sperm release and storage in a spiny orbweaving spider
Article Abstract:
The relationship between copulation and release of sperm in spiny orbweaving spiders, Micrathena gracilis, was analyzed to determine the factors that affect sperm release and storage. Analysis of sperm release and storage in Micrathena gracilis indicated the influence of female mating history and male body size on the amount of sperm that was released by the male. Furthermore, the prolonged secondary copulation facilitates sperm transport and storage in Micrathena gracilis.

Transitory inhibition of scent marking by copulation in male and female rabbits
Article Abstract:
The chinning frequency or deposition of odoriferous substances by adult male and female Oryctolagus cuniculus rabbits was analyzed in three experimental conditions. Analysis of chinning in adult male and female rabbits indicated the role of copulation in reducing chinning frequency. Furthermore, adult rabbits also exhibited inhibited chinning frequency after the performance of mounts without penile insertion or after ejaculation.

Natal site fidelity in northern fur seals, Callorhinus ursinus
Article Abstract:
All ages and sex classes of northern fur seals, Callorhinus ursinus, show a tendency to return to their place of birth when returning to the shore of St. Paul island in the North Pacific. This 'natal site fidelity' was found to increase with age amongst both sexes, with the females exhibiting earlier 'fidelity' tendencies. Both sexes are most likely to return to their natal site during breeding season.
