Developmental control point in induction of thymic cortex regulated by a subpopulation of prothymocytes
Article Abstract:
The characteristics of early prothymocytes when incorporated into the thymic cortex is analyzed using mutant mouse strains. The analysis reveals that the functional thymic cortex is absent in animals, suggesting a developmental block at the initial stages of the T-lineage formation. The transplantation of fetal or adult hematopoietic cells into the animals lacking thymic cortex results in the elimination of this abnormality.

Dynamics of neuronal interactions in monkey cortex in relation to behavioural events
Article Abstract:
Motor functions or sensory stimuli lead to a correlated firing among neurons in the brain cortex that occurs quickly and depends on the nature of stimulus. The distance between two neurons also influences the response behavior, implying the need for an alteration in neural coding models based on single neuron firing rates. Joint peri-stimulus time histograms aid these studies on neuronal interactions.
