Differential parasite drive
Article Abstract:
The article explains the harmful effects and mechanism of spread of the malarial parasites in humans and other organisms. The results show that parasites have greater metabolic flexibility when they are present in human bodies, than in the Petri dishes.

The highly reduced genome of an enslaved algal nucleus
Article Abstract:
Research into the tiny nucleomorph of a cryptomonad alga is described. The genome sequence of cryptomonad Guillardia theta has now been revealed. It is the most gene-dense genome yet discovered.

The genome sequence of the tiny nucleomorph of a cryptomonad alga, Guillardia theta, has now been revealed. The nucleomorph has only 531 genes, arranged in a compact manner.
