Article Abstract:
Populations of three species of Asian Gyps vultures namely, the white-rumped, the long-billed and the slender billed are expected to go extinct in the wildlife in South Asia. The cause of the declines, which include feasting on wild ungulate populations in Cambodia, the toxic effect of drug used widely in livestock of vultures to relieve fever and lameness and many others, are briefly discussed.

Turtles in trouble
Article Abstract:
Keeled box turtle of Vietnam and other Southeast Asian countries faces extinction as it is collected and sold for soup pot and further used in traditional Chinese medicine. Some of the conservation options adopted include affixing radio-transmitters to the shell of 13 turtles to gather data on home range sizes, habitat preferences and changes in activity over the course of a year.
