Effects of wolves on livestock calf survival and movements in central Idaho
Article Abstract:
Research indicates that wolf impact on calf survival in the central Idaho region is not significant. In studies conducted during the grazing seasons of 1999 and 2000, 13 calf mortalities were recorded, four of which were due to wolves. Wolf predation risk is higher when spatial proximity of calf populations to wolf populations is closer.

Spatiotemporal segregation of wolves from humans in the Bialowieza Forest (Poland)
Article Abstract:
Research on wolf behavior patterns in Poland's Bialowieza Forest indicate that wolves tend to avoid areas heavily used by humans, but this avoidance is less stringently adhered to at night, when human use is reduced. It is posited that this behavior maximizes their food acquisition activities while minimizing their contact with humans.

Comparative patterns of predation by Cougars and recolonizing wolves in Montana's Madison range
Article Abstract:
The studies related to the patterns of prey selection by recolonizing wolves and cougars in response to prey resource selection in the northern Madison Range, Montana reveal that shifting to more structurally complex refugia might have made prey more vulnerable to cougars.
