A cloned horse born to its dam twin
Article Abstract:
Somantic cell cloning technology is used to clone an adult horse in order to show that it is possible to establish a viable, full-term pregnancy in which the surrogate mother is also the nuclear donor. The findings indicate that the cloned offspring is identical to the mare that carried it, challenging the idea that maternal immunological recognition of fetal antigens influences the well-being of the fetus and the outcome of the pregnancy.

Efficiency of equine express postal systems: relay riders over two millennia delivered mail with a remarkably consistent alacrity
Article Abstract:
The use of horses in the mail delivery process showed remarkable consistency in the speed and in the distance between horse changing stations. Through an understanding of equine physiology, the speed and distance combination ideal for optimal horse performance, is explained.
