End of the ice bear? As the Arctic warms, wildlife treads on thin ice
Article Abstract:
The article examines how climate changes have reduced the amount of pack ice in the Arctic, impacting polar bear populations. Pack ice provides the polar bear with its hunting territory, and as the climate warms, it shrinks, requiring bears to swim farther, at great biological energy costs, to find food.
