Experimental rock outcrops reveal continuing habitat disturbance for an endangered Australian snake
Article Abstract:
Research indicates that human destruction of rock outcrops contributes significantly to habitat degradation for the broad-headed snake, Hoplocephalus bungaroides. Data collected from an Australian national park showed that restoration efforts for the endangered snake's habitat would be most successful if they were located at sites a minimum of 500 m from a park trail.

Effects of self-guided snorkeling trails on corals in a tropical marine park
Article Abstract:
Research indicates that individual behavior of snorkelers, rather than the number of snorkelers, has a more pronounced impact on marine park habitat. Using information obtained from Australia's Great Barrier Reef Marine Park, damage was observed even on trails with low use levels, particularly to branching coral colonies and to areas around interpretative signs.

Bushmeat markets on Bioko Island as a measure of hunting pressure
Article Abstract:
Observances of the number and types of animal carcasses presented at Bioko Island's meat market between 1991 and 1996 show that the island's biodiversity may be seriously threatened. The period showed a dramatic drop in larger-bodied species being brought to market, although the total carcass count was nearly 60% greater in 1996 than 1991.
