Female choice for song characteristics in the house finch
Article Abstract:
Captive female house finches, Carpodacus mexicanus, with a choice of two songs is presented each of which was identical except for a single parameter that are either accentuated or minimized. It is shown that females showed significant preferences for long songs and for songs presented at a faster rate.

State-dependent incubation behaviour in the zebra finch
Article Abstract:
The hypothesis that birds in better body condition would invest more in incubation than birds in poorer condition when incubating on the same diet is tested. The results suggest that birds of different body condition adopt different incubation strategies.

The effect of laying and hatching order on the timing and asynchrony of hatching
Article Abstract:
Relation between timing of hatching and laying order in Larus fuscus, black-backed gulls, is analyzed. Effect of hatching duration and asynchronous hatching on the quality of the egg is discussed.
