Flower constancy in bumblebees: A test of the trait variability hypothesis
Article Abstract:
The roles of floral-trait variation, flower constancy and pollinator cognitive limitations in the coevolution of flowering plants and their animal pollinators are discussed. The results are consistent with the idea that mechanism underlying flower constancy in bumblebees is a limitation on their ability to effectively search for and remember multiple combinations of floral traits at the same time.

Foraging currencies for non-energetic resources: pollen collection by bumblebees
Article Abstract:
A study was conducted on three foraging currencies that can be improved during pollen collection by lupin species-foraging bumblebee. The currencies involve pollen collection efficiency, pollen collection rate and pollen collected per inflorescence. Results indicate that foraging currencies for energy and foraging currencies for non-energetic resources are qualitatively similar.

Does parasitic infection impair the ability of bumblebees to learn flower-handling techniques?
Article Abstract:
A study was conducted to examine whether the infection by the intestinal protozoan Crithidia bombi affected the ability of bumblebees, Bombus impatiens. A high intensity of infection significantly reduced both motor-learning rate and maximum handling proficiency but low intensities of infection had no effect on the ability of bees to learn a novel flower-handling method.
