Fowl sequence
Article Abstract:
The study describes the first avian genome to be sequenced, providing a valuable resource for a diverse set of scientists studying a diverse set of scientific problems. The draft chicken genome sequence is distinguished from the sequenced mammalian genomes-those of humans, mice, rats and dogs, because the consortium's analysis of these macrochromosomes in chickens indicates that they are easily discernible from macrochromosomes at the sequence level.

Six is seventh
Article Abstract:
Chromosome 6 is best known as the home of the major histocompatibility complex (MHC), a region of 3.6 megabases that has an essential role in immune systems. The finished sequence of human chromosome 6 reveals an abundance of biological and information that was previously buried within the draft of human genome.

Quality assessment of the human genome sequence
Article Abstract:
The primary objective of the Human Genome Project (HGP) was to generate a highly accurate reference sequence for the human Genome. This sequence is now essentially complete and is in its totality as a reference for biomedical researchers.
