Investment analysts paint rosy prospect for biotech
Article Abstract:
The US biotechnology industry is geared for a remarkable comeback after a sluggish stock performance during the second half of 1996. Stock analysts attribute the industry's growth to the large number of new drugs being developed, strong financial environment and improved regulations. The financial status of the biotech industry was also aided by the removal of the potential threats which drug developers used to fear, including the projected effect of managed care on the acceptance of innovative treatments.
