Grim but determined- the G8 reaches accord on Africa and climate
Article Abstract:
Meeting of the Group of Eight industrialized nations held in Gleneagles, Scotland focused on its two priorities, Africa and climate change. Commission for Africa raised hopes that the summit would focus strongly on science and technology and suggested donors spend US$3 billion to create centers of excellence, and allot $500 million every year, for ten years, to reinforce African universities.

Fishy predators get its teeth into ancient climate history
Article Abstract:
Snakeheads (Channidae) are a group of predatory freshwater fish native to Africa and southern Asia. The way in which the populations of snakeheads and other different species react to the global climate change over large regions is discussed.
