HIV goes nuclear
Article Abstract:
Human immunodeficiency virus type 1 (HIV-1) inserts a DNA copy of its genome into that of its host so that the virus is reproduced during host-cell division and it is found to replicate itself by integrating into its host cell's DNA. The cell culture studies have revealed that nuclear-membrane proteins help in the engagement of the viral DNA with that of its host before integration.
