Habitat use by sympatric mule and white-tailed deer in Texas
Article Abstract:
The fluctuating population of white-tailed deer (Odocoileus (O) harmonus) and mule deer (O. virginianus) across central and western United States requires study so that sympatric populations are better managed. Evaluation of the role of vegetation and topography that influence differences in the distribution of sympatric deer in the region indicated that the different species do segregate spatially enabling successful coexistence but other factors influence the high degree of overlap that was also observed.

Road-based surveys for estimating wild turkey density in the Texas Rolling Plains
Article Abstract:
A common technique used to estimate density of wildlife populations is line-transect-based distance sampling, and this technique, which is easily and inexpensively applied to large ecoregion scales was used to evaluate the accuracy and precision of Rio Grande wild turkey population density.

Comparison of Mexican wolf and coyote diets in Arizona and New Mexico
Article Abstract:
A study was undertaken in New Mexico and Arizona to analyze the similarities and variations in the diets of wolves and coyotes relevant to seasonal availability. Results showed that although the diets were similar coyote diet manifested a greater seasonal variability.
