Hope in the hills for tundra?
Article Abstract:
Conservationists say that any forest expansion in the tundra could present a risk to the survival of arctic-alpine plants and animals. The trees currently occupying regions immediately south of the tundra will respond to the warming by increasing their individual growth, their reproduction, and their invasive capacity.

Parasite rattles diversity's cage
Article Abstract:
Grazing and mechanical mowing are known to increase plant diversity in grassland, probably by weakening dominant species and so allowing others to grow. The plant parasites are also agents of diversity and they can also be used as tools for the management and enrichment of grasslands.

Where slugs may safely graze
Article Abstract:
The impact of slugs on the development on an area of sown grassland near Zurich in Switzerland is presented. Grazers like sheep and rabbits remove a substantial proportion of grass production and most importantly the grazing animals graze selectively on preferred species.
