The hole record
Article Abstract:
New research supports the view that there will be continued global warming in the 21st century. This research also indicates that changes to the climate system during the 20th century induced by human activity will make it increasingly difficult to reliably predict climate change. A large database of underground temperature measurements was compiled from 616 previously drilled boreholes on six continents. This approach provides a wider spatial coverage and better density of palaeotemperature records on land than previous research. It was established once more that the 20th century record of climate change is too short to give a clear picture of natural climate variability.

Rapid climate changes in the tropical Atlantic region during the last deglaciation
Article Abstract:
The changes in the topography of the Cariaco basin were determined through the relative reflectivity (grey scale) from the four cores of the new surfaces at the center of the basin. Records showed cores changes that mirrored surface variations, indicating that grey scale is also controlled by the yearly extent of biogenetic productivity. Records also showed that major parts of the high-latitude North Atlantic region had the same climatic variations during the last deglaciation. These variations also tied up with the changes found in the Cariaco Basin.
