Influence of plumage colour on prey response: Does habitat alter heron crypsis to prey?
Article Abstract:
A study on the hypothesis that foraging strategies of white- and dark-plumaged wading birds might be influenced by their degree of aquatic prey was executed. The study reveals that the dark plumage might have disadvantage to herons foraging in open water and in vegetation structural complexity of the habitat appears to nullify differences in plumage color between white and dark foraging herons.

Can three-spined sticklebacks learn when to display? Rewarded displays
Article Abstract:
Use of head-down threat is enhanced in three-spined stickleback fish, Gasterosteus aculeatus, that are trained to correlate performance of head-down display and the subsequent disappearance of the opponent. Rewarded fish show enhanced frequency and quickness of threats, while reinforced fish exhibit an increased probability of changing from other acts to the threat display.

Crypsis and communication functions of UV-visible coloration in two coral reef damselfish, Dascyllus aruanus and Dascyllus reticulatus
Article Abstract:
A study was conducted to develop and test a technique to describe the UV-visible color patterns of actively behaving animals. The result indicates that the two-bar is better adapted for short-range social communication, which would be difficult for predators to detect.
