B and C organ identity functions require SEPALLATA MADS-box genes
Article Abstract:
New research into flower development shows that the activities of the three closely related MADS-box genes, SEPALLATA1/2/3, are required for the B and C organ-identity genes to be active. The SEP1/2/3 genes are therefore required for petals, stamens and carpels to develop.
