Island of the clones
Article Abstract:
A sample of larvae is reared to adulthood in the laboratory to test whether the specimens of Ischnura hastata is parthenogenetic. The concept of 'geographic parthenogenesis' proposes that the parthenogenetic forms of a species are more likely to occur in certain areas, like higher altitudes and latitudes and on islands, because of the different selection pressures that organisms face under these conditions.

The evolution of aggregation in profitable and unprofitable prey
Article Abstract:
The response of human, Homo sapiens, predators to profitable and unprofitable prey in a computer version of the 'novel world' experiments is investigated. The aggregated unprofitable prey had higher per capita survivorship than solitary unprofitable prey when all prey types were cryptic and all profitable prey were solitary.
