Article Abstract:
Studies have indicated that a non-coding DNA, which is the stretch of DNA that doesn't encode proteins, might be an important factor that separates chimpanzees from human beings. The different methods for identifying which pieces of non-coding DNA act to enhance the expression of nearby genes are discussed.

The powerful masticatory muscles found in the chimpanzees and gorillas, are comparatively smaller in both modern and fossil members of Homo. This proteomic distinction between humans and chimpanzees that can be related with a traceable anatomic imprint in the fossil record, is presented.
