Law sends laboratories into pathogen panic
Article Abstract:
Many researchers who had anthrax samples destroyed them in response to the passage of the USA Patriot Act following anthrax attacks in late 2001. But now those samples are no longer available for examination by officials investigating the anthrax attacks. Researchers will also find that it may be difficult to replace their samples if they want to do research in the future, due to new restrictions on the transfer of pathogens.
