Light-induced shape-memory polymers
Article Abstract:
A study is carried out on the shape-memory polymers that have received an increasing attention because of their scientific and technological significance. The study reports that polymers containing cinnamic groups can be deformed and fixed into predetermined shapes such as elongated films and tubes, arches or spirals by ultraviolet light illumination.

Polymers show they're metal
Article Abstract:
Structural disorders, which are very hard to eliminate in polymeric materials, prevents polymers from being real metals. Although the demonstration of a polymer acting as a true metal is a real milestone, it sets a limit on the level of conductivity one can expect from such materials.
