Magnetic vortex core reversal by excitation with short bursts of an alternating field
Article Abstract:
The time-resolved scanning transmission X-ray microscopy is used to image the controlled manipulation of the vortex core polarization by excitation with small bursts of an alternating magnetic field. The sense of gyration of the vortex structure can be reversed by applying short bursts of the sinusoidal excitation field, which has indicated a switching of the out-of-plane core polarization.

Quantum dynamics of a single vortex
Article Abstract:
The authors have investigated quantum dynamics of superconducting Josephson junction's individual vortex. They report the existence of quantized levels of the vortex energy within the quantum tunneting and the trapping potential well of the vortex through the pinning barrier.

Air juggling and other tricks
Article Abstract:
Research describing quantum tunnelling is presented. In particular the direct observation of dynamic tunnelling by experiments with ultracold atoms trapped in laser fields is described.
