McGeorge Bundy (1919-96)

Former nuclear policy adviser McGeorge Bundy succumbed to a heart attack on Sep. 16, 1996 in Boston, MA. Regarded as one of the 'best and brightest' who dealt with nuclear issues, Bundy helped shape and reinforce understanding of nuclear issues as well as influenced government policies on these matters. Having been a policy adviser during the Cuban missile crisis of 1962, he was the one of the most authoritative persons to study and write about the dangers and risks to survival in a nuclear armed world. Bundy was 77 at the time of his death.
