The advantages and disadvantages of keeping wild animals as pets are examined, focusing on the disadvantages. Topics include arguments that keeping wild animals as pets may help preserve species; and other arguments contending that most wild animals are not sociable by nature, the probably mistreatment of wildlife by potential owners, diseases that people can catch from wildlife, and the emphasis that should be placed on wildlife habitat conservation.
