Perch trees and shoreline development as predictors of bald eagle distribution on Chesapeake Bay
Article Abstract:
The role of perch trees and human development along shorelines in estimating baldeagle distribution near northern Chesapeake Bay was investigated. The 1985-92 experiment involved the observation of 2,962 eagles and the relocation of 110 radio-tagged eagles. The latter was repeated 1.350 times. In addition, regression models based on the two variables were developed. They accurately predicted eagle sites in 65.9-71% of the developed areas.

Piping plover brood foraging ecology on New York barrier islands
Article Abstract:
Plovers are capable of exploiting food in variable environments. It is thus important to maintain temporal and spatial diversity of suitable habitats, allowing broods to switch between habitats as necessary.
