Philip Hershkovitz: 1909-1997
Article Abstract:
Mammalogist Philip Hershkovitz passed away on Feb 15, 1997, at the age of 87. Hershkovitz attended the University of Pittsburgh and University of Michigan for his Bachelor's and Master's degrees, respectively. He spent most of his professional career at the Field Museum of Natural History in Chicago. He was a leading researcher on the systematics, biogeography and natural history of South American mammals.
