Effects of radiation on children
Article Abstract:
Mutation rates in children of parents exposed to radiation from the Hiroshima/Nagasaki atom bombs are similar to those of parents under control conditions. The parental ages, and genetic and environmental backgrounds are the same in both cases. Y.E. Duborova et al's reports of parental exposure to radiation after the the Chernobyl accident in Belarus as being the main cause of increased mutation rates in children need to be cautiously interpreted as they failed to control these important variables.

Rat spermatogenesis in mouse testis
Article Abstract:
Rat spermatogenesis in mouse testis is possible by transplanting testis cells from transgenic rats to the testes of immunodeficient mice. The rat spermatozoa produced in mouse testis are normal, even though rat spermatogenesis requires almost 50% more time than that of mouse. Observations show that mouse Sertoli cells support rat spermatogenesis. The male germ line stem cells could find applications in agriculture, biology and medicine due to their ability to replicate throughout their life.
