Plate-wide stress relaxation explains European Palaeocene basin inversions
Article Abstract:
An attempt is made to show that the main phases occurred during the Late Cretaceous and Middle Palaeocene times differed both in structural style and cause. A simple flexural model explains how domal, secondary inversion follows inevitably from primary, convergence-related inversion on relaxation of the in-plane tectonic stress.

Evidence of lower-mantle slab penetration phases in plate motions
Article Abstract:
A comparative study of the Cenozoic plate motions at different subduction zones is conducted to explain the lower-mantle slab penetration phases existing in plate motions. The thickening of the slab in the Earth's interior enhances buoyancy, hence facilitating the fast lower-mantle penetration.

Dynamics of Mid-Paleocene North Atlantic rifting linked with European intra-plate deformations
Article Abstract:
The relationship between the North Atlantic continental rifting and a change in the intra-plate deformation style in the European continent is presented. The significant stress change in the European continent led to the termination of the plate formation.
