Processive AID-catalysed cytosine deamination on single-stranded DNA simulates somatic hypermutation
Article Abstract:
Research reveals that activation-induced cytidine deaminase (AID)-catalyzed cytidine deaminations occur on 5' WRC sequences and 10-70 cytidine to thymine mutaions per clone are observed. AID shows a 15-fold preference for cytidine deamination on the non-transcribed single-stranded DNA.
