Protein structure prediction
Article Abstract:
S.A. Benner offers analysis of a single protein as test for a proposed method of predicting protein secondary structure. His prediction of SH3 residues was only 46% accurate. Other methods have scored 56% and 63%, but the secondary structure of SH3 has proven to be difficult to predict generally. The main problems with Benner's claims are the lack of confirmation for a wide range of proteins and an objectively specifiable, reproducible testing method.
