Providing support and a voice for Europe's young researchers
Article Abstract:
The Marie Curie Fellowship Association (MCFA) was set up mainly to promote a fellowship scheme for postdoctoral scientists. 7,000 fellowships have been awarded since 1958 and a further 8,000 are expected within the fifth Framework research programme (FP5). It only received its first funding in 1998 but expects to play a significant part in the tracking of fellows throughout their career.
