RNA in control
Article Abstract:
A mechanism is described by which riboswitches have regulated the expression of genes involved in vitamin [B.sub.1] biosynthesis in the fungal species Neurospora crassa. The discovery of riboswitch aptamers that regulate alternative splicing in fungi and the existence of equivalent mechanisms in plants might help animals use related strategies for regulating gene expressions.

Hes1 is a target of microRNA-23 during retinoic-acid-induced neuronal differentiation of NT2 cells
Article Abstract:
The expression of Hes1, basic helix-loop-helix transcriptional repressor, regulated by microRNA-23 (miR-23) in NT2 cells is demonstrated. It is indicated that miR-23 regulates the expression of Hes1 at the post-transcriptional level and participates in retinoic-acid-induced neuronal differentiation of NT2 cells.

Micromanagement of metastasis
Article Abstract:
The ability of the microRNAs (miRNAs) to mediate the cancer spread in humans is discussed. These miRNAs are found to effectively coordinate the gene-expression programs that are involved in cancer metastasis.
