Rapid communication: variable number of tandem repeat marker, RVF9405, in rainbow trout
Article Abstract:
Polymorphism was found among rainbow trout using PstI and in six unrelated rainbow trout using RsaI and PvuII. The probe RVF9405 was segregated from a genomic DNA cosmid library derived from the RTG-two cell line. Nylon filters with trout genomic DNA fed with PstI were prehybridized. Five milliliters of the prehybridization solution were treated with random-primed labeled probe. The filters were hybridized in this solution overnight at 65 degrees Centigrade.

Rapid communication: polymorphism in the goat beta-lactoglobulin proximal promoter region
Article Abstract:
Results demonstrate the occurrence of polymorphism in the goat beta-lactoglobulin gene as shown by polymerase chain reaction technique. Data reveal that polymorphic gene is comprised of 588 base pairs of the promoter and 122 base pair of the exon 1.
