Reconstructing the evolutionary history of the artiodactyl ribonuclease superfamily
Article Abstract:
Parsimony analyses of ribonuclease (RNase) artiodactyl superfamily helps reconstruct RNase sequences, which were intermediates during the evolution of proteins of this family. The reconstructed RNases, which existed about 40 million years ago, possess enhanced ability to catalyze double-stranded RNA. During that period, these RNases acquired ruminant digestive capacity, implying non-digestive ancestry for the present RNases.

Palaeotemperature trend for Precambrian life inferred from resurrected proteins
Article Abstract:
A new approach for determining the timescale of resurrected proteins for providing the palaeotemperature trend for the Precambrian life is presented. The findings prove that the ancient species have continuously been adapting themselves to the environmental temperatures for survival.

Inferring the palaeoenvironment of ancient bacteria on the basis of resurrected proteins
Article Abstract:
Temperature-dependent activity of the sequences of elongaion factors of the Tu family ancient nodes indicate that the ancient bacteria that hosted these genes are thermophiles.
