Scarlet Macaws threatened: WCS biologists report on perils of the Peten
Article Abstract:
A study area in the Peten of Guatemala conatins 80 percent of the known scarlet macaw nests in the country. These rain forests of Guatemala are disappearing, because of some farmers who are selling their lands to big builders and this will result in the extinct of wildlife collections.

A shot in the dark: the search for accuracy in estimating snow leopard abundance
Article Abstract:
Snow leapord that is endangered due to poaching and destruction of its habitat is discussed. Efforts to estimate the leapord's population is also mentioned.
