Shotgun sequence assembly and recent segmental duplications within the human genome
Article Abstract:
Complex eukaryotic genomes are now being sequenced at an accelerated pace primarily using whole-genome shotgun (WGS) sequence assembly approaches. These results have important implications not only in directing and improving future genome assemblies, but, more importantly, in providing insight into how whole- genome sequence can be meaningfully interpreted by the biological community.

Finishing the euchromatic sequence of the human genome
Article Abstract:
The current genome sequence and the process used to produce it are described. The examination the accuracy and completeness of the sequence is illustrated biologically in a proper sequence. An initial analysis is previously reported and a series of papers is being written describing the individual chromosomes, including annotation of genes and other features.

The DNA sequence of human chromosome 7
Article Abstract:
The article describes the euchromatic sequence of chromosome 7, which contains cystic fibrosis genes and cancer related genes. Research presentssequence of 153 million base pairs covering 99.4% of the chromosome. Data indicate that the sequence possesses 8.2% pf segmentally duplicated sequence, 1,150 protein-coding genes, and 941 pseudogenes.
