Article Abstract:
Light microscopy is undergoing a renaissance, with a wide range of tools and techniques for gathering biological data with unprecedented speed and resolution because of the limitations found in confocal microscopy. Fluorescence lifetime imaging (FLIM) and Optical and Computational Instrumentation (LOCI) can be used to improve the quality of fluorescence resonance energy transfer (FRET) experiments and total internal reflection fluorescence (TIRF) microscopy can be used to image near the cell surface.

Article Abstract:
An investigation on the possible use of the intrinsic roughness present on all non-reflective surfaces as a source of physical randomness is presented. The fine structure of different surfaces is examined with the use of the diffuse scattering of a focused laser by making use of the optical phenomenon of laser speckle.

Article Abstract:
The speed of the domain walls along the nanowire, as well as oscillations in the walls' internal structure and the ability of electrical currents to move them are investigated. A new memory technology called magnetic random access memory (MRAM) is presented that has stored information in magnetic nanostructures.
