Article Abstract:
Harm results from too high a velocity of water, money and information, while the changes needed to create a sustainable civilization seem to take too long. The inefficiencies that are created by the pursuit of high rates of efficiency need to be clearly understood. A more appropriate idea of time and scale is also needed, and people should learn to take time rather than killing time.
