Sport hunting: the mayhem in our woods
Article Abstract:
Hunters defend their activities as humane since they supposedly reduce the numbers of uncontrolled wildlife. However, they have been known to hunt breeding animals and use very cruel tactics. Hunting has already caused the extinction of species and endangers the existence of other species.

State-sponsored youth hunts target our nation's children
Article Abstract:
Wildlife authorities in 26 states are sponsoring youth hunting activities that teach children from eight years old and up how to shoot animals. Such programs usually use animals raised in captivity that are released in front of the young hunters to allow them to shoot non-moving targets.

Article Abstract:
The activities in some dog training schools sanctioned by the United Kennel Club have gone unnoticed by animal welfare activists. Birds, such as pigeons and ducks, are being used to train hunting dogs to retrieve and track game and result in hundreds of deaths each month.
