Stormy opening to hurricane season

The U.S. National Hurricane Center in Miami, Florida, is in dire need of funds to predict the hurricane season and also replace the key satellite, the Quick Scatterometer (QuikSCAT). Bill Proenza, the center director of the agency, has criticized the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) for spending too much money on anniversary celebrations instead of using it for a better purpose.

Archaeologists have pointed the location of a long-sought Maya City in Guatemala and have revealed about 30 enigmatic sculptures carved stone blocks. Archaeologists have found the site location, which was an ancient city known as La Corona in the Peten region of northern Guatemala.
