Structural basis for glycosphingolipid transfer specificity
Article Abstract:
The crystal structures of apo-glycolipid transfer protein (GLTP) and lactosylceramide-bound GLTP, in which the bound glycosphingolipid is sandwiched, after adaptive recognition within an unknown two-layer all (alpha)-helical topology is presented. It is seen that GLTP, which has a different architecture from other motifs of lipid-binding and lipid transfer proteins represents a new emerging family of sphingolipid-binding/transfer proteins.

Structural basis for overhang-specific small interfering RNA recognition by the PAZ domain
Article Abstract:
The 2.6 A crystal structure of the PAZ domain from human Argonaute eIF2c1 bound to both ends of a 9-mer siRNA-like duplex are reported. PAZ might serve as a silencing pathway, and as an anchoring site for the 3' end of guide RNA within silencing effectors complexes is proposed.

Recognition of small interfering RNA by a viral suppressor of RNA silencing
Article Abstract:
A conserved biological response to double-stranded RNA that regulates gene expression in plants is called RNA silencing or interference. Viruses produce proteins that suppresses the silencing machinery in order to defend themselves.
