Structure of mitochondrial ADP/ATP carrier in complex with carboxyatractyloside
Article Abstract:
Crystal structure of the mitochondrial ADP/ATP carrier protein complexed with its inhibitor, carboxyatractyloside, reveals that it consisits of six alpha-helices from a compact transmembrane domain. The domain surface towards the space between inner and outer mitochondrial membrane exhibits a deep depression. Furthermore, it possesses an hexapeptide carrying the nucleotide RRRMMM at the bottom.
